Life disrupted by heavy rain in Bareilly; Smart City roads turn into ponds, posh colonies submerged

Heavy rainfall in Bareilly has caused severe waterlogging in several parts of the city. Posh colonies like Subhashnagar, Civil Lines, and Rajendranagar are facing major issues due to flooding. The situation is so dire that many residents have been forced to leave their homes.

Heavy rainfall in Bareilly has exposed the claims of the Smart City project. Normal life has been completely affected due to waterlogging in major areas of the city. Water accumulation on roads has disrupted traffic, making it difficult for people to step out of their homes.

According to the Amar Ujala report, water has accumulated on the roads in areas like Subhashnagar, Siklapur, and Residency Garden. The situation is so severe that water has entered houses, forcing residents to struggle to save their belongings.

Waterlogging issues have also been observed in posh colonies like Rajendranagar, Rampur Bagh, and Civil Lines. There is significant resentment among local residents due to the flooding in these areas. Questions are being raised about the administration's preparations, as drainage systems have proven ineffective despite Smart City claims.

Residents of Madhinath, Hajiyapur, and Model Town are also facing severe waterlogging. Many people have been forced to leave their homes and move to safer locations. This flooding caused by the rain has highlighted the lack of basic infrastructure in the city.

Local residents state that this situation arises every time it rains, but no concrete solution has been provided by the administration. Essential services, including electricity supply, have also been affected due to the waterlogging.

Administrative officials have begun assessing the situation, but there is no immediate relief in sight for the people. The risk of disease outbreaks has also increased due to the waterlogging, further escalating the concerns of local residents.

Pictures emerging from various parts of the city show roads transformed into ponds. The administration has assured that efforts to drain the water in affected areas will begin, but the general public continues to face significant hardships.
