Two fraudsters arrested in Bareilly for extorting money by intimidating fish farmers

Police in Bareilly have arrested two individuals who posed as fisheries department officials and media personnel to extort money from fish farmers. The accused intimidated farmers involved in breeding the banned Thai Mangur fish and demanded two lakh rupees. Authorities confirmed the arrests after finding evidence of their illegal activities.

Two fraudsters who targeted people involved in the fish farming business have been apprehended by the police in Bareilly. According to reports from Amar Ujala, these individuals posed as either fisheries department officials or media representatives to intimidate their victims. Their primary targets were farmers engaged in the cultivation of the banned Thai Mangur fish.

Police investigations revealed that the duo pressured fish farmers to extract money illegally. The accused had allegedly extorted two lakh rupees, for which the police have obtained concrete evidence. By concealing their true identities, they threatened the farmers with legal consequences to coerce them into paying.

As reported by Amar Ujala, the activities of these fraudsters had created an atmosphere of fear among local fish farmers for some time. Once the victimized farmers filed a complaint, the police took the matter seriously and initiated an investigation. Based on the evidence collected, the police successfully arrested both suspects.

Authorities are now working to determine if other individuals are involved in this racket. Officials stated that further information may emerge following the interrogation of the accused. For now, the police have initiated the necessary legal proceedings against both men.

This incident has become a major topic of discussion in the region. The administration has urged citizens not to fall prey to suspicious individuals and to demand identification from anyone claiming to be an official. Any reports of illegal extortion should be immediately reported to the local police.

The fisheries department has also taken cognizance of the matter. The department clarified that none of their employees have the authority to engage in such extortion. If anyone attempts to intimidate others in the name of the department, a complaint should be filed immediately.

For the time being, the police action has brought relief to the fish farmers. Further revelations are expected as the investigation continues. The police have made it clear that anyone taking the law into their own hands will face strict consequences.
