Open electrical panels in Mathura pose safety risks ahead of Janmashtami, raising concerns for devotees

With millions of devotees expected to visit Mathura for the upcoming Janmashtami festival, open electrical panels on major city roads are posing a serious safety threat. According to an Amar Ujala report, the live current running through these exposed panels could invite a major accident at any time, raising questions about the administration's preparations.

The festival of Janmashtami is celebrated with great fervor in Mathura, for which the administration and local bodies are making extensive preparations. This year as well, millions of devotees from across the country and abroad are expected to arrive. However, concerns regarding the city's safety arrangements have begun to emerge even before the festivities.

According to an Amar Ujala report, electrical panel boxes installed on several busy routes in the city are left open. The wires passing through these boxes carry live current, which is extremely dangerous for passersby. During Janmashtami, these routes experience heavy footfall, increasing the risk of any untoward incident.

Local residents and devotees have expressed their concern regarding these open panels. They state that if these boxes are not covered in time, a major accident could occur. During peak crowds, anyone's hand or body part could come into contact with these exposed wires, which could prove fatal.

So far, no concrete steps have been taken by the administration to repair these open panels. With very little time left for the Janmashtami celebrations, ignoring these security lapses could prove costly. Ensuring the safety of devotees should be the administration's priority.

Such negligence on the major roads of Mathura is not only a violation of safety standards but also a major threat to the visiting devotees. The administration must immediately secure these electrical panels to prevent any kind of accident.

While the administration often makes grand claims about security arrangements during festivals, the ground reality is visible in the form of these exposed wires. If these flaws are not fixed soon, any untoward incident during the festival could raise questions about the administration's preparations.

It is hoped that the concerned department will take cognizance of this report and that these electrical panels will be securely closed before Janmashtami. The safety of devotees is paramount and no compromise should be made in this regard.
