BKU Mahapanchayat in Muzaffarnagar, farmers demand sugarcane price and raise 16-point charter

A large Mahapanchayat of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) was held at the Government Inter College ground in Muzaffarnagar. During this, farmers demanded a fair price of Rs 500 per quintal for sugarcane. The Mahapanchayat discussed 16 major issues, including electricity, availability of fertilizers, agricultural loans, and losses caused by stray animals, and demanded solutions from the government.

A large gathering of farmers was witnessed in Muzaffarnagar, where the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) organized a Mahapanchayat to raise their demands. A large number of farmers arrived at the Government Inter College ground with their tractors. During this event, the farmers protested strongly regarding their various problems and raised their voices before the government.

The main focus of the Mahapanchayat was the price of sugarcane. The farmers demanded that the fair price for sugarcane be set at Rs 500 per quintal. Apart from this, the farmers also expressed their concerns regarding electricity rates and the availability of fertilizers. They stated that they are facing heavy losses due to the rising cost of agriculture.

According to an Amar Ujala report, a total of 16 major demands were raised during the Mahapanchayat. These include agricultural loan waivers, withdrawal of wrongly filed cases, and relief work in flood-affected areas. The farmers also expressed deep resentment over the damage caused to crops by stray animals and demanded a permanent solution from the administration.

The farmers said that they want their fair share for their hard work. They warned that if a positive decision is not taken on their demands soon, they will intensify their movement. Speakers at the Mahapanchayat questioned the government's policies and accused it of neglecting the farmers.

The local administration had made tight security arrangements during the Mahapanchayat. Traffic in several parts of the city was also affected due to the arrival of a large number of tractors. BKU leaders stated that this Mahapanchayat is a symbol of farmers' unity and they are committed to getting their demands met.

These problems of the farmers are directly affecting the rural economy. The farmers who attended the Mahapanchayat said in one voice that they will not rest until they get the right price for their crops. They urged the government to prioritize the interests of the farmers.

This Mahapanchayat is an indication that farmers may become more active regarding their demands in the coming time. Finding a solution to these issues will now be a major challenge for the administration and the government. Farmer leaders said that they will soon discuss the future strategy.
