In Uttar Pradesh, Executive Engineer (XEN) of the Public Works Department (PWD), Ravindra Pal Singh, has been suspended for compromising the quality of construction work on the Ram Vangaman Marg. This action follows the discovery of flaws in the road construction between Autarpur and Singraur Uparhar. Additionally, a departmental inquiry has been ordered against the Superintending Engineer.
VIMARSHNAARAD TVThe Uttar Pradesh government has adopted a strict stance to ensure quality in infrastructure development projects. In line with this, PWD Executive Engineer (XEN) Ravindra Pal Singh has been suspended with immediate effect for negligence in the construction of the Ram Vangaman Marg. This decision was taken following complaints regarding the poor quality of the road construction.
A departmental inquiry revealed that the standards for road construction between Autarpur and Singraur Uparhar were not properly followed. Taking the negligence in construction work seriously, higher authorities initiated the suspension. This route is considered highly significant from religious and tourism perspectives, and therefore, no laxity in its construction was tolerated.
Along with the suspension, orders for a departmental inquiry against the Superintending Engineer have also been issued. The government has given clear instructions that there should be no compromise on quality in construction projects. During the inquiry, it will be determined where the lapses occurred in monitoring the construction work and who is responsible for them.
The Ram Vangaman Marg project is an ambitious plan for Uttar Pradesh, aimed at connecting religious sites with better road connectivity. Lack of quality in construction not only affects the image of the project but also constitutes a misuse of public funds.
There were continuous complaints regarding the poor condition of the road at the local level, following which senior PWD officials inspected the site. During the inspection, the construction material and the quality of work were found to be below standards, leading to this strict action.
Officials stated that if negligence is found in any construction work in the future, similar strict action will be taken against the concerned officers. The government's focus is on creating transparent and high-quality infrastructure.
Currently, the process of departmental proceedings against the suspended XEN has begun. Further action will be decided after the inquiry report is submitted. This incident has sent a strong message to officials in other departments that negligence in construction work will no longer be acceptable under any circumstances.
