UP: High-tension power lines still pass over 3890 council schools, Basic Education Department seeks report

According to a report by Amar Ujala, high-tension (HT) power lines are still passing over 3890 council schools in Uttar Pradesh. Taking cognizance of this serious matter, the Basic Education Department has sought a detailed report from the concerned officials. There has been a long-standing demand to remove these lines to ensure the safety of the students.

A serious concern regarding the safety of thousands of children studying in council schools across Uttar Pradesh has come to light. According to a report by Amar Ujala, high-tension (HT) power lines are still passing over 3890 schools in the state. This situation is not only against safety regulations but also poses a risk of major accidents at any time.

Taking this matter seriously, the Basic Education Department has now become active. The department has sought a detailed report on the status of these schools from all concerned officials. This step has been taken with the aim of ensuring a safe environment within the schools.

The presence of high-tension lines over school premises has been a matter of concern for a long time. Parents and local residents have repeatedly warned the administration about this danger. These power lines also hinder the expansion and construction work of the schools.

The report requested by the department will clarify which districts have the highest number of schools affected by this issue. Following this, coordination will be established with the electricity department to remove these lines.

According to safety standards, high-voltage power lines should not pass over any educational institution. However, many schools built in the past have fallen under this danger zone.

The Basic Education Department states that the safety of children is their top priority. After receiving the report, concrete steps will be taken to accelerate the process of removing these lines.

Local administration has also been instructed to work in conjunction with the electricity department so that these lines can be relocated as soon as possible.

It is expected that after the department's strict stance this time, these schools will be freed from this danger. Parents are also waiting for prompt action in this direction so that their children can receive education in a safe environment.
