Success and expansion of 'Pariyojana Path' discussed at National Good Governance Webinar
The 40th National Good Governance Webinar featured the 'Pariyojana Path' initiative from Mehsana district. This model, which received the 'PM Award for Excellence in Public Administration', focuses on improving foundational literacy and numeracy.
VIMARSHNAARAD TVThe 40th National Good Governance Webinar was organized by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions on September 25, 2026. The theme of the webinar was the continuity of initiatives awarded under the PMA and their replication in other locations.
During the webinar, a special discussion was held on the 'Pariyojana Path' initiative of Mehsana district. This initiative was honored with the 'PM Award for Excellence in Public Administration' in 2022. As per the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, such webinars are organized to share the experiences of past award winners.
Shri M. Nagarajan, State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Gujarat, explained that the objective of 'Pariyojana Path' was to improve Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN). It was implemented in 994 primary schools in Mehsana, utilizing teacher guides and worksheets.
Mehsana District Magistrate Shri S. K. Prajapati emphasized the continuity of this initiative. He stated that even after receiving the award, it was institutionalized through regular guidance for teachers and data analysis. The initiative is now moving towards grade-appropriate learning.
Dr. Sharad K. Trivedi, an official from the Education Department, provided information about the expansion of this model. He mentioned that the Mehsana model has now been adopted at the state level under 'Nipun Gujarat'. Its resources have also been disseminated to other districts through the DIKSHA platform.
The webinar was chaired by Shri Puneet Yadav, Additional Secretary, DARPG. Officials from over 900 locations across India participated in the session. The objective of these webinars is to disseminate successful administrative initiatives and implement them in other regions.
So far, 39 webinars have been conducted under this series. Each session involves approximately 1,000 officials, including District Collectors and representatives from various training institutes.
This webinar provides an important platform for implementing administrative reforms at the grassroots level and ensuring their success. The success of 'Pariyojana Path' is proof that significant changes can be brought about in the field of education through proper guidance and continuity.
