A major lapse in the healthcare system has come to light in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. A newborn baby was referred from the Government Medical College in Sultanpur to Lucknow in critical condition. Family members alleged that the child lost his life because a ventilator was not available in time at the hospital. This incident has raised serious questions about the lack of basic facilities in government hospitals.

Taking serious note of the gravity of the situation, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court took cognizance of the matter. Expressing deep displeasure over the incident, the court reprimanded the concerned officials. During the hearing, the court made it clear that negligence at any level in the case of the newborn's death would not be tolerated.

The court has ordered a fair and detailed inquiry into the matter. The court asked the officials under what circumstances the newborn could not get life-saving facilities like a ventilator. The investigation will attempt to determine whether this was due to a shortage of resources or a lapse on the part of the hospital administration.

According to an Amar Ujala report, the High Court has directed that accountability be fixed in this matter. The court has also asked for the investigation report to be submitted as soon as possible. Following this incident, there is a stir in the health department, and preparations are underway to provide answers at the administrative level.

This case is not just a personal tragedy for a family but also highlights the flaws in the public health system. The child's condition was critical during the journey from Sultanpur to Lucknow, but not receiving necessary treatment even after reaching Lucknow reflects a failure of the system.

All eyes are now on the report of the inquiry committee constituted by the High Court. It is expected that strict action will be taken in this matter so that no other child has to face such a situation in the future. Senior officials of the health department are now reviewing the case.
