Wasim Akram questions PSL, praises Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Pakistan cricket legend Wasim Akram recently made sharp comments regarding his country's cricket system and the role of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). According to the NDTV India report, Akram questioned the league's ability to produce new batters. He explicitly asked how many quality batters the league has provided over the last ten years.

While making his point, Akram specifically mentioned young Indian cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He praised Vaibhav's talent and indicated how young players in other countries are progressing. Akram believes that Pakistan cricket needs to seriously reconsider its process of identifying and nurturing talent.

Akram's statement regarding the concerning state of Pakistan cricket has become a major topic of discussion. Questioning the organization of the PSL, he stated that merely holding a league is not enough; its primary objective should be to prepare new players.

According to Akram, Pakistan has lacked batters who can perform consistently at the international level over the past decade. He emphasized that if the PSL is not producing new batters, it raises a significant question mark over the entire system.

By mentioning Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Akram attempted to convey that young talents in neighboring countries are getting opportunities and making their mark. He advised the Pakistan Cricket Board and selectors to improve their policies.

This is not the first time Wasim Akram has spoken openly about the flaws in Pakistan cricket. He has frequently shared his opinions regarding the team's performance and the structure of domestic cricket.

Akram's comments have sparked a new debate within the Pakistan cricket fraternity. Fans and experts are now observing whether the board will take this criticism positively and take concrete steps in the future.
