According to a report by Amar Ujala, Saharanpur police have arrested five members of a gang involved in manufacturing counterfeit coins. The ringleader, Upkar Luthra, had been involved in this illegal business since 2001. Police interrogation revealed that each coin cost five rupees to produce and was sold for 25 rupees, yielding a 400 percent commission.

Following the issue of fake currency, a major case involving the manufacturing of counterfeit coins has surfaced in Saharanpur. According to a report by Amar Ujala, the police have busted a gang that had been circulating fake coins in the market for a long time. Five members of the gang have been arrested in this operation.

Shocking facts regarding the gang's modus operandi have emerged during police interrogation. The main ringleader, Upkar Luthra, also known as Abhay Pratap Singh, had been involved in the business of making counterfeit coins since 2001.

The accused revealed that the cost of producing one counterfeit coin was only five rupees. They would then sell these coins in the market at a rate of 25 rupees. In this manner, they were earning a massive 400 percent commission on each coin.

According to the police, the gang had been active for a long time and had already circulated a large quantity of fake coins in the market. Based on the interrogation of the arrested members, the police are now searching for other connections within this network.

The circulation of counterfeit coins causes damage to the economy, which is why the police have taken this matter seriously. Officials stated that other associates of the gang have been identified and will be arrested soon.
