The second day of Semicon India 2026 witnessed 25 significant agreements and announcements in the semiconductor sector. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that India has become a major attraction for the global semiconductor ecosystem. The event focused on chip design, manufacturing, and skill development, with participation from numerous international companies.

The second day of Semicon India 2026, held at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, marked several major achievements for the semiconductor industry. During the event, 25 key agreements and announcements were made in sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, chip design, and advanced packaging. More than 600 exhibitors are participating, including a significant number of international firms.
Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, noted that global interest in India's semiconductor activities is growing rapidly. He stated that the active participation of countries like Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and several European nations demonstrates that India is securing a vital position in the global semiconductor supply chain.
To strengthen the supply chain, the India Semiconductor Mission has signed an agreement with Nippon Express. Under this partnership, expertise in logistics and warehousing will be shared. The minister emphasized that Indian companies must focus on cost and quality to compete on a global scale.
Regarding sustainable development, the government has decided to promote water recycling in semiconductor fabs and the use of closed-loop cooling systems in data centers. This technology will ensure the efficient utilization of resources.
During the event, India's first indigenous 'System-on-Module' (ISC-VEGA-SOM) was unveiled. It was developed by integrating C-DAC's processor with a LoRa-RF module. This achievement represents a major step toward India becoming a 'product nation.'
Various companies, including Tata Electronics, L&T Semiconductor Technologies, and others, signed multiple MoUs for local manufacturing and skill development. These agreements aim to make the semiconductor ecosystem in India self-reliant.
Semicon India 2026 is hosting representatives from 52 countries and thousands of industry experts. The event will continue until September 19, featuring various sessions such as startup showcases, innovation displays, and student hackathons.
