Sourav Ganguly's captaincy transformed Team India, former teammate shares dressing room memories

Former Indian cricketer Deep Dasgupta recently highlighted the transformation of Team India while reflecting on the era of Sourav Ganguly's captaincy. According to an NDTV India report, Dasgupta believes that Ganguly's leadership completely changed the attitude of the Indian cricket team.

According to Dasgupta, the team's approach was quite different before Ganguly took over as captain. Ganguly infused a new sense of energy and aggression into the team. Under his leadership, Indian players started giving fitting replies to their opponents on the field.

Sharing memories of the dressing room, the former cricketer explained that the impact of Ganguly's vision was not limited to his own game but extended to the morale of the entire team. He instilled confidence within the squad, which encouraged players to stand their ground and compete rather than backing down in any situation.

Under Ganguly's leadership, the Indian team also began to perform exceptionally well in overseas conditions. Dasgupta mentioned that Ganguly taught the team how to remain calm under pressure and secure victories. During his captaincy, Team India achieved several historic wins.

The former teammate also noted that Ganguly's influence was not confined to the field. In the dressing room, he emerged as a leader who encouraged young players and taught them to believe in their own potential.

According to Deep Dasgupta, Ganguly's captaincy was a significant turning point in the history of Indian cricket. He developed the team into a unit capable of challenging any major side. Ganguly's aggressive leadership remains a topic of discussion among cricket enthusiasts even today.

Thus, Sourav Ganguly's leadership not only improved the team's performance but also strengthened the image of Indian cricket on a global scale. The culture he established benefited future generations, helping Team India emerge as a world-class force.
