Department of Fertilizers Prepares for Special Campaign 6, Focusing on Cleanliness and E-Waste Management

The Department of Fertilizers, Government of India, will conduct 'Special Campaign 6' from October 2 to October 31, 2026. The initiative aims to promote cleanliness in government offices, resolve pending matters, and ensure effective e-waste management.

Following guidelines from the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the Department of Fertilizers is fully prepared for the upcoming 'Special Campaign 6'. Running from October 2 to October 31, 2026, the campaign aims to institutionalize cleanliness in government operations and expedite the resolution of pending files.

During the campaign, special emphasis will be placed on office cleanliness, as well as the collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste. The department has issued necessary instructions to all its affiliated offices and public sector undertakings regarding these objectives.

Previously, the Department of Fertilizers observed a 'Swachhata Pakhwada' from September 1 to September 15, 2026. During this period, officials took a cleanliness pledge led by the Secretary, and activities such as 'shramdaan' were conducted within office premises. Additionally, essay competitions on cleanliness and the elimination of single-use plastic were organized.

Currently, the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign is also underway from September 17 to October 2, 2026. Preparations for this were reviewed via video conferencing with fertilizer companies, chaired by the Senior Economic Adviser. Initiatives such as 'Waste to Art' and 'Gyan Yatra' have been integrated into these efforts.

Under Special Campaign 6, old files will be reviewed, and obsolete records will be removed according to the retention schedule. Furthermore, public grievances and references received from Members of Parliament will be addressed on a priority basis.

Another significant aspect of this campaign is the digitization of records, which is expected to improve office efficiency and allow for better space management. The progress of the campaign will be monitored through a dedicated portal.

The Department of Fertilizers will regularly upload progress reports to the SCDPM portal. Through this initiative, the government aims to make the experience of government offices more efficient and accessible for the general public.
