Union Education Minister Prahlad Joshi unveiled a commemorative book in New Delhi titled 'Bharat Innovates 2026'. The publication documents the inaugural edition of the 'Bharat Innovates' program, which took place in Nice, France, this past June. The Minister stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has placed innovation, research, and entrepreneurship at the core of the nation's development journey.

This initiative provides young talent with opportunities to showcase their skills and engage with global stakeholders. Mr. Joshi emphasized that when youth are provided with the right opportunities and networks, they can achieve extraordinary results. The program serves as a testament to the strength of India's higher education and research ecosystem.

Minister of State for Education Dr. Sukanta Majumdar highlighted the importance of higher education institutions in realizing the vision of a developed India. He noted that the National Education Policy 2020 prioritizes innovation and scientific temper, and initiatives like 'Bharat Innovates' provide a platform to translate these priorities into tangible outcomes.

The book details the journey of deep-tech innovators, from their selection across the country to their international showcase. The Ministry of Education's initiative aims to identify and nurture high-potential innovations. It seeks to accelerate the process of bringing technology from laboratories to the market.

The first edition of the program brought together 120 deep-tech startups and 45 research projects from across India. Participants were given the opportunity to demonstrate their technologies, connect with investors, and explore international market collaborations. The initiative aims to create a seamless path from campus to the global stage.

The launch event was attended by the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Prof. Ajay Kumar Sood, and NITI Aayog member Prof. Abhay Karandikar, along with other senior officials. Directors of various IITs and representatives from the Department of Science and Technology also joined the event via online mode.

This commemorative book highlights the entrepreneurial spirit and scientific potential of India's researchers, startups, and academic institutions. It serves as a record of the collaborative efforts aimed at fostering a culture of innovation in the country.
